e•van•gel ( -v n j l) n. 1. The Christian gospel. 2. An evangelist.
[Middle English evaungel, from Late Latin vangelium, from Greek euangelion, good news, from euangelos, bringing good news : eu-, eu- + angelos, messenger.]
The Greek root of the word Evangelism means “good news.” It has the same root as “gospel” which also means good news. So, what is the good news?
You were born into sin. That means from the first person, Adam, separation from God has been passed down. Sin is being less than the exact likeness of God.
"All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
The penalty for sin is complete separation from God. Death. What you have to know about God is that He is perfect; in fact, He is the standard for perfection. Because He is perfect, also called Holy, He cannot be where sin is. It’s like oil and water, they don’t mix. “The payment for sin is death” (Romans 6:23a)
Don't you realize that this is not the way to live? Unjust people who don't care about God will not be joining in his kingdom. Those who use and abuse each other, use and abuse sex, use and abuse the earth and everything in it, don't qualify as citizens in God's kingdom. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
Right about now you should be wondering “What in the world is good about that?!?”
Our sin has been paid for. How? You say. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God.(2 Corinthians 5:21) Every wrong thought and action you have done and will do was placed on Jesus and the very righteousness of God was placed on you.
Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost. (Luke19:10) We were all lost in more than one way; we had lost our way and were lost to God. Jesus was sent to show us how to live and to restore our relationship with God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.(Revelation 21:4)

That is truly good news, isn’t it! So what do you have to do to receive this salvation?
“For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]” (Ephesians 2:8-10) The really cool thing about this all is you don’t really do anything.
So, if this is what you desire pray this prayer and walk in the new life you have been given: Lord, I know that I am a sinner and I need to be saved. I believe that Jesus died for my sin because of your love for me. I receive Him as Savior and Lord of my life right now. Save me in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Praise God and Welcome to His Family! From this point on, you begin your new life in Christ. God does not remember your sins anymore and says, “I'll forever wipe the slate clean of their sins” (Hebrews 10:17)
Now that you are saved, and a part of God's family, like any other family member, there are some things you can do to help you grow as a child of God:
Pray - You get to know a person by talking with them. Talk to Jesus! You can talk to Him any time of the day wherever you are. (Luke 18:1)
Study your Bible - You will get to know about Jesus and what God says by studying your Bible. (II Timothy 2:15) If you don’t have a Bible just e-mail us and we will be sure to get you one.
Become active in church - Another way to learn more about Jesus is to go to Sunday school and worship services on a regular basis. (Hebrews 10:25) We invite you to join us at one of our churches and if we are not near you we will work hard to find a great Bible based church for you, just e-mail us.
Share with others how you made the wonderful discovery - Tell others what Jesus has done for you. You will want them to know Jesus as their Savior. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Always be assured of your salvation - You can do nothing to make God put you out of his family! (I John 5:13)
God is with you always - God is always with you where ever you go. (Hebrews 13:5)
Ask for Forgiveness - When you make a mistake (sin), agree with God that you made that mistake and out of respect, ask Him to forgive you. (I John 1:9)
To sum it all up, God is love. He could have created us to be completely faultless and without blame but He didn’t. God created us to show the depth of His love. His judgment and love met at the cross and now we can enjoy the life of God. We can show others the love of God! We now are capable of loving others as Jesus first loved us. In fact, by loving each other, we are loving God and therefore keeping His commandments.
Aren’t you glad you’re saved . . .
